This will be a short one but thought it was too cute....
So I asked Ronin if he wanted to ride in the parade with me for Hope Tractor. Well of course he did so as we are driving along he wants to wave to everyone. He is smiling so big and just loving it and I can tell its making him feel special. Finally, he tells me his arm and hand is tired of waving so I tell him to rest his hand for a minute. He then says, "I can't do that and let my fans down!".
Oh this kid....

Nerdy Ego
So Ronin wanted his hair in a Mohawk today and I obliged. We were headed to Sunday school when Ronin decided he wanted to talk about being cool. He says, "I'm not cool like my other friends and it's all because of my Nerdy ego.". Of course I reassured him that he was cooler than he realized. He then goes into some other subject and says to me, "Mom you get hurt to easily. You're just too vulnerable.". First I'm laughing to myself of his use of big words but then I'm thinking, "I'm vulnerable?". Of course Ronin then clarifies this and says that I get hurt so easily cause I'm always running into things or cutting myself, etc.
This boy makes me laugh!

Ronin's First Love
August 28th, 2012
I picked up Ronin from my mom's house after work and as we were driving home, which is a very short drive, he became very serious and started to tear up so I asked him what was wrong and he said, "I'm never gonna have a girlfriend."
Now to go back a little bit, Ronin has liked this one particular girl since he was in the first grade and now he is in the third grade. It's always been this same little girl.
So back in the car I tell him that he will have a girlfriend one day and there was no need to rush. He then told me, "You just don't understand, Mom. Everyone has a girlfriend and I feel like it just gets rubbed in my SINGLE face." I'm trying not to laugh because I know he is truly serious with tears running down his cheeks, but I can't help but think how cute and innocent this is. So I asked him if he ever talked to this girl and he said no. Then I asked if they were friends and he says, "Yes, but we just don't talk. She's shy and I'm shy." He then says, "Mom, she has the 2 C's and 1 S." Of course he peaked my curiosity and I asked him what those stood for. He says, "Cute, Confident, and Smart, and she's the only girl that has those."
By now we are home and we go inside where Ronin has one of those dancing solar flowers. He's asking me what he should do and he was determined to have a girlfriend by the end of the week. I suggested he get her a flower like the dancing one he has. This gets him excited and he wants to go to the store then. I told him we would wait and I would pick him up when I went to town the next day. He then says, "Mom, I met her on a Tuesday so Tuesday is the special day. It can't be any other day." Well Ronin got his flower to take to her and it must have went over well because the next day he asked if he could go on a "lunch date" with her. I told him the only lunch date he could have would be in the cafeteria at school. He seemed pleased with this, but has yet to tell me if he has a girlfriend even though he says they try and sit with each other sometimes....
The saga continues.....
